Biography

Louise Franke is a senior at Clemson University where she is pursuing a B.S. in Biochemistry with minors in Philosophy and Political Science. Louise's undergraduate research is divided between the research lab, where she is attempting to understand the metabolism of the pathogen Entamoeba histolytica, and her honors thesis in philosophy focused on the tension between science and government in Francis Bacon's New Atlantis. Louise is the founder and Submission Editor of The Aurantiaco, Clemson's undergraduate journal of the social sciences and humanities, as well as the President Pro-Tempore of the undergraduate student senate. At Oxford, Louise hopes to continue her studies in philosophy, politics, and economics.
