Biography

Isatu M. Bokum is a highly accomplished and dynamic media professional with over five years of experience in the industry. Known for her exceptional skills as a videographer, editor, content creator, social media manager and filmmaker, she has consistently demonstrated her talent and creativity throughout her career. She is the Founder and CEO of ThinkSolv Consultancy, a forward thinking PR and Communications firm dedicated to helping organizations amplify their voices and drive real social impact through strategic communication. Passionate about advancing women's and girls' rights, Isatou also founded Girls Talk Organisation at the age of 21. Through this non-profit organisation, she has emerged as a prominent advocate, fearlessly addressing cultural norms and traditional beliefs that hinder the growth and potential of girls and young women. Her impactful initiatives, ranging from engaging social media campaigns to sensitisation programs, mentorship initiatives, and capacity-building efforts, have touched the lives of thousands of women and girls across The Gambia. By empowering them to overcome obstacles and pursue their aspirations, Isatu has sparked a transformative wave of change within her community. Isatu is the first Mandela Rhodes and Rhodes Scholar from The Gambia. She has also received several awards for her exceptional contributions and leadership. She is a Silver Awardee from the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, recipient of the Sustainable Development Awards 2019 from the Young African Leaders Awards, and the TBGF Humanitarian Leader Award 2020. These honours recognise her outstanding achievements in personal development, community service, sustainable development, and humanitarian efforts.
