Biography

Elvin Irihamye is a 2022 Rhodes Scholar and graduate student at the University of Oxford (Jesus college) pursuing an MSc in Applied Digital Health. Elvin is passionate about implementing EMR systems, mobile health technologies and deep neural network algorithms in leapfrogging healthcare inequities in resource-constrained countries through startups and entrepreneurship. Elvin N. Irihamye completed a B.S in Neuroscience at Indiana University where he was a Herman B. Wells Scholar and published cancer research in three peer-reviewed scientific journals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Elvin led sales and strategic partnerships for an early-stage start-up that used virtual companionship to improve the mental health of quarantined nursing home residents. Elvin co-founded and is president of "The Eckford Mentorship Program" a nonprofit using industry and academic partnerships to bring Black, Latinx and Native American talent into the workforce through 1:1 virtual mentorship. In his free time, Elvin enjoys playing sports, being outdoors, reading and watching Mad Men.
