Christopher Lu

Biography

Christopher obtained his BA degrees in Philosophy from Fudan University, Shanghai, and the University of Birmingham. He then specialised in Italian Quattrocento art and intellectual history during his MA at the Warburg Institute, London, where he received intensive training in Italian, Latin, and palaeography. Christopher has translated works of French philosophers into Chinese and served as the interpreter for multiple events co-organised by Fudan University and the École Normale Supérieure of Paris. Pursuing his interest in Early Modern Europe with MSts in Classics and Modern Languages (Italian) at Oxford, he hopes to translate more key texts of the period from their respective languages into Chinese, introducing them to academics and general readers alike. Outside academia, Christopher is also devoted to the voluntary subtitling and transmission of queer media in his home country.
