Biography
Akumjung studied Philosophy at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. Intrigued by themes of metaphysics, and epistemology as they concern with topics in the philosophy of language, and the philosophy of religion, Akum hopes to research ontological and linguistic categories and how they can help shape considerations of the notion of the divine. He hopes to also understand the nature of epistemic disagreement by investigating the relationship between evidence and doxastic attitudes.
He served as the President of the Philosophical Society of St. Stephen’s College, and was a member of the Editorial Board for its annual philosophy journal, “Kosmos.” He initiated the Society’s Reading Club Sessions, a weekly discussion session for its members.
Apart from his academic interests, Akum is passionate about indigenous people's politics, and democratising access to higher education. He further has interests in classical music, and learning languages. When he isn’t studying or practicing the piano, you can find Akum exploring forests and monuments, going on long walks, or chatting with friends.
