Lesley Lei

Biography

Lesley Qi Lei is a 2021 Rhodes Scholar, and she is currently studying MSc in Law and Finance at Oxford. Lesley graduated from Peking University in July 2021 with a degree in Law. Supervised by Shouwen Zhang, the former dean of Peking Unversity Law School, Lesley focuses on the research of law and economics. She has previously interned at the World Bank International Finance Cooperation and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Also, she provided research work for the Supreme People’s Court in China, State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Lesley is interested in the intersection of law and fintech and have had an opportunity to explore this interest by serving as a summer associate at the International Monetary Fund and legal intern at People’s Bank of China, providing analytical work covering the regulations over crypto currencies and stablecoins. She has been a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion – she served as the Chairwoman of PKU Legal Aid Association, providing voluntary legal assistance to disadvantaged groups. She is the national winner of several international moot court competitions, including Philip.C.Jessup and International Criminal Law Moot.
