Biography
Lachlan is a Tuckwell Scholar at the Australian National University (ANU) where he studies a MChD, having graduated with a PhB(Hons) - Science which focused on cancer, malaria, and global health research. He also studied abroad at ETH Zürich and the University of Copenhagen. Lachlan's passion is ensuring equitable access to surgery globally, particularly in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. As an aspiring global surgeon, he is the Vice-President of the ANU Surgical Society, Secretary of the Australasian Students' Surgical Society, and recently served as a Young Ambassador with UNICEF Australia. He has played cricket, Australian rules football, and soccer throughout his life, although he is now an avid long-distance runner who regularly competes and volunteers as a coach with the Refugee Marathon Project.
