Biography
Lachlan is currently a medical doctor in Adelaide South Australia intending to specialise in orthopaedic surgery. He has ongoing interests in orthopaedic research and medical education. Currently, he is involved with teaching at Flinders University Medical School.
Lachlan grew up in Gawler, South Australia. Following high school he was awarded a Tuckwell Scholarship to the Australian National University in 2015 where he completed a Bachelor of Philosophy - Science with Honours in Medical Research followed by a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, which he graduated from in 2025. He spent 3 years in Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar completing his DPhil in Musculoskeletal Sciences between 2021 and 2024. Lachlan's research focused on optimising surgical instrumentation for the Oxford Unicompartmental Knee Replacement - the most widely used partial knee replacement globally.
When he is not in the hospital you will find him running around the Adelaide parklands training for his next marathon or spending time with his family.
