Biography
Kendall is a senior at Duke University studying Environmental Science and Policy as well as English. A Rachel Carson Scholar, her current research examines governance, community context, and social-ecological impacts of marine protected areas in Indonesia. She has also researched with the Duke Marine Robotics and Remote Sensing Lab, applying remote sensing technology to monitor land cover change in coastal North Carolina. As a presidential intern and fellow at the Rachel Carson Council, she launched the Oceans and Coasts program to advocate for marine conservation and ocean justice. Passionate about the power of story to inspire climate action, Kendall is writing a novel that was accepted to Middlebury's Bread Loaf Environmental Writers' conference. At Oxford, she plans to continue studies in the environment and English.
