Jia Wan is a PhD student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research covers causal inference, reinforcement learning, statistical inference, and fairness in machine learning. Jia graduated first in her class from Columbia University with a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and completed an MSc in Statistical Science with distinction from Oxford. She received the MIT EECS Alumni Fellowship, Albert Asher Green Memorial Prize for the best record of scholarship in Columbia College, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship, and was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa.
