Brendon Tankwa

Biography

Brendon completed a DPhil in Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford, where he was affiliated with the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School. He previously studied Engineering Physics at the University of British Columbia as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar. Across his academic and professional journey, he has been drawn to problems that combine analytical rigour with real-world relevance, from winning a national mathematics olympiad in high school to pursuing undergraduate research in robotics and computational biology. Driven by a longstanding interest in solving global energy challenges, he co-founded Audacious Energy, a clean energy startup. At Oxford, he was active in sport through tennis with OULTC, squash, and football with Rhodes FC, which he co-captained.
