Biography
Shantel Marekera is a summa-cum-lade graduate who completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in only 4 years. She is a member of the Alpha-Lambda and Phi-Eta-Sigma Honor Societies. At ASU, Shantel served as the Director of diversity and inclusion, co-Editor in chief for HerCampus Magazine and assistant Director for the Model of African Union. She is the founder of Little Dreamers Foundation, a subsidized preschool for orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC). Shantel has been involved in various judicial and legislative internships, one of which includes a full-time internship at the Arizona State Senate. As the current Global Peace Ambassador for Zimbabwe, Shantel wants to help create a culture of transparency and accountability to the law, as well as challenge existing back practices against women.
