Samvida Sudheesh Venkatesh

Biography

I am a Schmidt AI in Science Fellow at the University of Oxford, working on understanding the "dark genome", i.e. non-coding genetic variation in humans. I did my DPhil in Genomic Medicine and Statistics with Prof Cecilia Lindgren at Oxford, prior to which I did an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Computer Science at Princeton University in the US. I enjoy playing badminton (having been on the Blues team for four years at Oxford) and staying active, solving cryptic crossword puzzles, and trying new vegan/vegetarian recipes.
