Biography
Rayan Semery-Palumbo is a DPhil student in Public Policy at Oxford. His research focuses on economic and social inequality. In particular, he examines equal opportunity and how the frequent promises to deliver it and the failure to do so have come to shape contemporary debates around fairness and justice. Much of his research is directly motivated by his experiences growing up low-income in the U.S. He hopes to make his research publicly accessible upon completion.
In addition to his inequality research, Rayan works to advance decarbonization policy in the United States. He focuses on safely deploying climate technologies to alleviate environmental burden and ensure economic benefit for communities most affected by climate change.
Rayan previously completed the MPhil in Politics (Comparative Government) and graduated from Yale University. In his free time, he enjoys cooking for friends and watching sports.
