Biography
Kofi Gunu is proud to call Helekpe, a small farming community in Ghana, home. He graduated summa cum laude from Augustana University, where he received a B.A. in Government/International Affairs. An interest in understanding China's footprint in Africa then took him to Beijing, where he obtained a master's degree in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar. Kofi has worked in the US Senate and at the Council on Foreign Relations. In 2018, he was handpicked to undertake his mandatory national service in the Office of the Vice President of Ghana. At Oxford, Kofi hopes to conduct research on issues at the intersection of climate change and Sino-Africa relations. He speaks conversational Mandarin and is a wannabe salsa dancer.
