Biography
Yee Aung, or Joshua, will complete his undergraduate degree in April 2019. He has a strong interest in forced migration issues, human rights theory and practice, and citizenship theory. At university, he served as the Co-Chair of WUSC and oversaw its Student Refugee Program, which sponsors tertiary education and resettlement for refugees living in Lebanon, Malawi, and more. He also interned as a legal advocate at Asylum Access Ecuador in northern Ecuador, where he met daily with Colombians and Venezuelans, to advise on rights and refuge-related matters. He is intrigued by the politics of inclusion and exclusion, the notion of belonging, and the question of "who counts" in society. At Oxford, he hopes to discover, or rediscover, his praxis, while living and loving these questions.
