Biography

Gia-Yen graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience) in 2016. She was selected to join Teach for Australia's 2017 Cohort, and was placed at a middle school in the Northern Territory, where she has been teaching Maths and Science for two years whilst completing her Masters in Teaching. Throughout her studies and alongside her teaching, Gia-Yen is heavily involved in a range of extracurricular activities, including as a Leader in the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement. Gia-Yen is passionate about creating social change through education, and is determined to contribute to building an equitable education system in Australia, where every child has access to high quality education, regardless of their background.
