Biography
Elena Gallina graduated first from community college in Philadelphia and then from Boise State University with a BA in Multidisciplinary Studies, Economics, Poli Sci, and Gender Studies emphasis. She maintained a perfect GPA and is both a Truman and Boren Scholar. Having grown up in Kosovo after the war there, Elena's work and research has focused on combating gender-based violence in refugee camps and conflict zones. She believes in shifting power from institutions to the women directly impacted by the instability created by forced migration to more effectively address gender inequity. Elena is a runner and photographer.
