Tina Christmann

Biography

Tina is a restoration ecologist and lecturer of environmental Sciences at University of Southampton where she is also program director for the MSc Environmental Management and Sustainability. Trained as an ecologist at TU Berlin, Tina moved to Oxford to do an MPhil in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management followed by a DPhil on the topic of forest restoration in the Andes. Now based in Southampton, Tina has an active woodland restoration research group and conducts research with land owners, forestry managers and conservation organisations on most effective ways to restore ecosystems for biodiversity, carbon and livelihoods. Tina is a keen triathlete and former rower, having raced professionally over the Ironman distance and in the Oxford-Cambridge Boatrace.
