Biography
Qitong Cao, born and raised in Nanjing, China, is a senior at Stanford University simultaneously pursuing a B.A. in Political Science and an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering, in the field of computational social science. Qitong's research applies formal models and statistical methods to studying internet governance in different political systems. His honors thesis examines how the construction of a domestic cyberspace in China helps the Chinese government overcome the information dilemma facing authoritarian regimes. He has conducted quantitative social science research at the World Bank and Google. He also served as co-president of the Forum for American/Chinese Exchange at Stanford (FACES).
