Biography

Nikita completed her undergraduate education at Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab. She has a strong interest in feminist theory and practice, menstruation and capitalism, and India's gender policy. While at Oxford, Nikita will pursue an her interest in Women's Studies with an emphasis on menstrual bodies of India. In India, Nikita served as the founder of Happy to Bleed, a campaign against menstrual stigma. Nikita has been doing feminist activism in and around Punjab for four years. She has also been the President of Gender Studies Group of her college. Along with this, Nikita is a writer and her works have appeared in leading national dailies in India and international journals.
