Biography
Elisha Ngetich is a young doctor and an upcoming researcher who graduated from the University of Nairobi UoN in 2016 with a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery (MBchB) and is currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Diabetes at the University of South Wales (Online) as an award from MERCK for writing one of the best concept papers in Africa on prevention of Diabetes. He now works at the Nakuru General Provincial Hospital in Kenya. He is heavily involved in mentorship of young Kenyan scholars in high school and university and is also involved in several voluntary outreach programs including organizing medical camps to the marginalized parts of the country. He is also involved in research especially of infectious diseases and has a strong desire to improve healthcare in his country. At Oxford, he plans to pursue global health and epidemiology. He strongly believes that the strength of a nation lies is in the hands of the youth. He hopes that his experience at Oxford will empower him to significantly change the healthcare in Kenya for the better.
