Biography
Richard has completed his undergraduate studies and will work as a junior doctor until commencing at Oxford. During his medical degree, he spent a year in the remote Australian town of Kununurra and later completed a thesis examining a camera-based screening program for diabetic eye disease in Australian Aboriginal Medical Services. He was also heavily involved in medical student representation and advocacy through the Western Australian Medical Students' Society. Richard is a keen debater and plays water polo competitively, including twice winning the Australian Men's National League with the Fremantle Mariners. He is also a volunteer surf lifesaver and patrol captain at his local beach. At Oxford, Richard hopes to pursue his interest in population health and medical research.
