Biography

Lilian graduated from The University of Chicago in 2015, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa as a junior and won the Elsie Filippi Memorial Prize in Poetry. After teaching high school briefly in Hong Kong, Lilian completed an MSt in English (1550-1700) at Oxford, focusing on diplomacy in Shakespeare's works, followed by an MSc in Social Anthropology (with Distinction and a departmental Certificate of Recognition), writing a thesis on the management of the Panama Canal and energy infrastructure in West Africa. Following her time at Oxford, Lilian worked in Norway, Sweden, and New York in various roles in consulting, FCPA compliance, and ESG investing. Her creative writing has been published in literary journals including Mochila Review, Autre, and The Maine Review. Lilian recently completed her JD degree from Stanford Law School, where she was a Franke Fellow in Global Business Law. She is currently a US law associate at a firm in London.
