Joshua Nott

Biography

Josh Nott is Co-Founder of the Promaka Group, where he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Promaka AI. During his career he has worked on the development and deployment of advanced autonomous systems, raised, and collaborated with, institutional capital, and engaged governments on their defence capability needs. Nott was previously a senior executive at Perennial Autonomy. As an early employee, he advanced Perennial’s Ukrainian and European expansion. Before becoming a deep-tech operational leader, Josh managed global growth and strategic priority projects at Schmidt Futures, the philanthropic venture founded by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Wendy Schmidt. In this capacity, he managed international strategic planning, evaluated priority projects, and orchestrated cross-border technology initiatives. As a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, he earned a Master of Public Policy (with Distinction) from the Blavatnik School of Government and an MSc in African Studies. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Social Science (both with Distinction) from the University of Cape Town. He has worked with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C., and the Global Economic Governance Programme at Oxford and remains committed to innovative thinking and action on pressing defence and technology questions.
