Biography
Christa Grace Watkins, Milroy, is a senior at the University of Notre Dame majoring in philosophy. She has gained national recognition for her work in sexual assault prevention, legal and policy reform, and victim advocacy. Grace is a Truman Scholar and a member of Notre Dame's student government, where she founded the first support group for victims of sexual violence. She serves as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Legal Affairs for Jubilee Initiative for Financial Inclusion, a student-run organization that aims to replace predatory pay day lending with low-interest micro-loans and financial literacy classes. She also works with a non-profit group building the first secondary school in the Jonglei State of South Sudan to teach non-violence and entrepreneurship. She intends to pursue research in socio-legal studies at Oxford.
