Biography
Zia Saleh is a family physician practicing in Edmonton, Alberta. He completed his medical degree at the University of Alberta, where he is also appointed as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine. Inspired by the Ismaili Muslim community's emphasis on one's duty to serve humanity; he hopes to dedicate his life to that purpose - through a multitude of ways in which critical fields impact humanity, such as clinical care, local and global youth education, and public policy.
Building on his experiences in sports-based teaching in Edmonton, international development-based education at Global Encounters, public policy at the World Health Organization, management consulting at Deloitte, and preventive medicine in co-founding NiaHealth, Zia hopes to impact humanity by continuing engagement in different fields in order to strengthen a generalist lens with which to view development and social change.
