Biography

Dr. Suhas Mahesh works at the intersection of physics, materials science, and computation to develop technologies for a low-carbon economy. He is currently a Schmidt Science Fellow at the University of Toronto, where he exploits data and ML to accelerate the development of next-generation photovoltaics, lighting, and catalysts.

While at Oxford Physics, Suhas resolved a long-standing problem in the field of perovskite photovoltaics, earning a commendation award for his 'exceptional' doctoral thesis. Suhas is also an expert in several pre-modern languages, and is currently translating the Sanskrit classic Nilakantha-vijaya for the Murty Classical Library (Harvard University Press). Suhas's other passions include composing classical poetry, science outreach, and promoting open-science.
