Biography

Lieutenant James 'Jimmy' Haw, Australian Regular Army, is a Cavalry Officer currently serving in the 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment (Queensland Mounted Infantry). He graduated second in his class at theRoyalMilitaryCollege - Duntroon, after graduating UNSW Canberra with a BA first class honours and the university medal in politics. Prior to this he graduated from the Australian Defence Force Academy with the Chief of Army Prize for the most outstanding graduating Officer Cadet. An avid southeast Asianist, Jimmy has recently returned from a rotation to Rifle Company Butterworth,Malaysia and has attended the Indonesian Army Military Academy and Universitas Airlangga on exchange. He is an avid distance runner, rower and spelunker. Whilst at Oxford Jimmy intends to study social anthropology with the aim of understanding the impact of military operations in the world's tribal regions.
