Biography
Ilhan A. Dahir, Columbus, graduated from Ohio State University in May with a degree in English and Political Science. She is now on a Fulbright Fellowship teaching English in Turkey. Her senior thesis was on the role of western foreign fighters in ISIL, and their threat to global peace. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security sent her to represent the U.S. in Brussels for an international discussion on countering violent extremism. The daughter of Somali immigrants who fled that country's civil war, she has been very active in inter-faith efforts in Ohio and throughout the world.
