Biography
Bahuli is a final year student of law. She graduated with First Class Honors in History from St. Stephen's college in 2013. She currently serves as the Convenor of the Legal Aid Society, one of the largest student-run initiatives providing pro-bono legal assistance in Delhi. A trained paralegal, she has organized legal awareness drives and legal literacy camps aimed at providing free of cost legal counsel to the underprivileged. At law school, Bahuli also headed the Women Empowerment Cell, where she undertook a research project to study the condition of incarcerated women in Tihar Jail, which is currently under publication by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority. Bahuli has also worked as a EU Advocacy Intern at Human Rights Watch and her work has been published by the international NGO, South Asia Democratic Forum. An avid debater, she served as the President of the Debating Society at St. Stephen's and is the debate coach to students at Vasant Valley School since the past four years. At Oxford, she plans to focus on comparative criminal and human rights law and envisages a career in litigation and politics.
