Biography
Lise finished her Bachelors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch in 2012, and will finish her Masters in Astrophysics in Cape Town this year. During her studies at Stellenbosch, she served on both the Engineering Student Council and the Academic Affairs Council, was awarded an SKA scholarship (undergraduate and postgraduate), and received the Rector's Award upon completion of her degree. She is currently part of the Anna Foundation where she teaches mathematics to disadvantaged children. She has also co-authored papers in two scientific journals. Lise enjoys travelling and the outdoors, and likes to experiment with new musical instruments. In the long term, she hopes to become a prominent astrophysicist with a dual passion to help South Africa face its educational challenges.
