Biography

Aven P. Satre Meloy, Helena, is a Computational Research Scientist in the Building Technologies and Urban Systems division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. In this role, he conducts interdisciplinary research and analysis to support energy policy and technology development for the U.S. Department of Energy. Aven received his PhD from the University of Oxford’s Environmental Change Institute, where his research focused on applications of advanced computational methods to high-resolution electricity consumption and occupant data to identify opportunities for further efficiency and flexibility in the energy system. Prior to graduate school, Aven received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in Turkey, served as a Research Fellow for Project Drawdown, and interned at the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change. Aven received a Master's in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford and a BS in Political Science and Environmental Studies from Santa Clara University.
