He is currently working for Sagicor Life Jamaica as an Actuarial Analyst and sitting Actuarial exams to become an Associate of the Society of Actuaries. Timar received the Prime Minister's Youth Award for Excellence in Academics in 2012, and won the Merville Campbell Prize (for best mathematics student) in his first and second year of university. During his studies, Timar served as Treasurer for the Students' Union, President for the Vice Chancellor's Ambassador Corps and Executive member of his University Hall's fundraising and endowment committee to raise funds for the activities of it's 800 students.
