Biography

Subhashish currently serves as the Managing Partner at ACT Grants, an India-focused venture philanthropy fund backing founders who use technology and innovation to solve the country’s most pressing development challenges. Previously, he was part of the leadership teams at Dalberg (social impact advisory) and Klub (MSME lending FinTech). His longest stint was at Omidyar Network, where he deployed both equity and grant capital to support entrepreneurs working to make technology safer and more empowering. His key investments include MOSIP (open source Digital ID), State of Aadhaar (world’s largest Digital ID survey), Glific (open source tool for non-profits) and CloudSEK (India’s leading cybersec start-up). He holds an M.Phil. in Economics from University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and a B.A. in Economics from St. Stephen’s College. His debut book, Caged Tiger: How Too Much Government is Holding Indians Back, was published by Bloomsbury in April 2023.
