Biography
As a recipient of both the Abu Dhabi Educational Council Scholarship for Outstanding Students and the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Scholarship for Exceptional Emirati Students, Shamma will complete her undergraduate study in May 2014. During her time at NYU Abu Dhabi, Shamma served as one of the initiators of the Al-Nahda Institute, a university-wide program aimed to raise awareness about social equity and to address both individual and collective dimensions of leadership. She is also a member of the university's Student Affairs in the Global Network University committee. Shamma has done extensive research on Emirati females' perceptions of the labour market; and has interned as a summer analyst at a financial firm in New York City, and a detailed researcher in Washington, DC. Shamma is an avid golfer and skier.
