Rob Hortle

Biography

Rob is Deputy Director of the Tasmanian Policy Exchange at the University of Tasmania. He has over ten years’ experience in international development, academia, and consultancy in the UK, Australia, and the Pacific. He holds an MPhil and DPhil in International Development from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in International Relations and Indonesian from the University of Tasmania. Rob has a strong expertise in policy analysis, project leadership, and translating academic research into policy impact. He is passionate about socioeconomic development, democratic participation, and community-building in Tasmania, Australia, and the Pacific. He is an Academic Adviser to the Tasmanian Pathways to Politics for Women program, Co-Secretary for the Tasmanian Rhodes Scholarship, Tasmanian Convenor of the Electoral Regulation Research Network, and a volunteer organiser for Hobart Shanty Sessions.
