Biography
Michael is in the final year of his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He is currently a teaching assistant to second-year students in the Biology Department, and is working as part of the Genome Canada-funded IGNITE project as a research student, which seeks to discover novel genes that cause rare inherited diseases. Michael is an accomplished acapella singer, pianist and trumpeter, playing at local healthcare facilities, fundraising and community events. For relaxation, Michael enjoys hiking, camping and landscaping. In the long term, Michael's interest in translational research and genetic diseases, leads him towards a career as a clinician-scientist.
