Biography
Mahesh has completed his medical degree with first class honours in Medical Science (Endocrinology & Intensive Care Medicine). He has undertaken electives at Kings College London and at Yale University, and has published widely. He was invited this year to present his research on diabetes at the 2013 American Diabetes Association Scientific Session, was awarded the Intensive Care Society Scholarship and has been invited twice to speak at the NHMRC Centre Clinical Research Excellence Forum. Alongside his academic work, Mahesh served as President of the Adelaide University Surgical Society, tutored younger medical students and volunteered for St John's Ambulance. Mahesh continues to plays Chess recreationally (having won a number of junior championships), soccer and basketball and loves to write. Long-term, he envisages a career as medical specialist, researcher and health advocate, bringing a disciplined, evidence-based approach to clinical practice and to the systems that underpin the delivery of medical care.
