Biography

Kristijan Jovanoski fast-tracked a Bachelor of Biomedicine in neuroscience at the University of Melbourne in two years instead of the standard three, followed by an Honours year in biochemistry and currently an MPhil in quantum physics. He is the Founder and Chair of the Melbourne University Health Initiative, a registered charity empowering people to tackle local and international health issues through eight long-term programs. Kristijan has also volunteered extensively at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Melbourne Museum, facilitated a community-based health program in rural India, and led the team that won the inaugural University of Melbourne Global Health Case Competition. For relaxation Kristijan enjoys endurance sports, reading classical literature, and playing the piano. In the long-term, Kristijan hopes to work on tackling the underlying causes of neurodegenerative diseases worldwide.
