Biography

Tom Snow is now Chair of the Snow Medical Research Foundation, which has invested over A$90 million into Australian medical research under his guidance, as well as Chair of Equality Australia. He is also a director of Canberra Airport and is the longest-serving director of Rhodes Scholarships in Australia. Tom was a founder and Co-Chair of the Equality Campaign, which led and won the successful YES marriage equality postal plebiscite. He personally led the creation of the Equality Campaign and led the fundraising and political advocacy efforts. He is a founder of Whitehelm Capital, which has assets of over $4.5 billion under management and $15 billion under advice, and he led the sustainability efforts in its portfolio, including the sale of its coal generating assets, and acquisition and development of its wind generating assets. As a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, he has had roles including director of Perth Airport, Canberra Airport, Bankstown Airport, Port of Adelaide / Flinders Ports, Etihad Stadium, Peninsula Link, International Parking Group and Whitehelm Capital. Tom has served as Chair of the Canberra Convention Bureau, director on the Australian Science Festival and he has been a major supporter of the marriage equality movement. He is a Rhodes Scholar (Victoria, 2000, Magdalen) and is a proud father of three kids.
