Glen Power

Biography

Glen Power is Managing Director of the Lions Eye Institute in Western Australia. He has for the past 26 years held senior roles within the Australian health industry including as CEO/GM of seven hospitals in four Australian States and as Chief of Staff and Principal Policy Adviser to the Minister for Health in Western Australia. While a Rhodes Scholar, he gained a DPhil in metabolic biochemistry, and was elected president of the Magdalen College Middle Common Room. After Oxford, Glen was an associate at McKinsey & Co, completing the firm's Mini-MBA. Alongside his career, Glen has served on the boards of a number of education and health providers and is a director of the Rhodes Scholarships in Australia Pty Ltd. He was also recently Branch President of the Australian Private Hospitals Association in Western Australia for a three year period. Glen is the proud Dad of two boys, Angus and James, and loves to take them fly-fishing. He is also the author of 'Trout in Western Australia', a new history about the acclimatisation of trout and other fishes to south-west Australia.
