Biography

John Peter Cruse is an energetic former RS (1974-1975), Professor and Head of Anatomical Pathology at UCT and Chief Specialist at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town (1995-2001). PhD London in Cancer research. FRCPath. UCT GSB MBA gold medallist (2000). He was then CEO of hospitals, polyclinics and clinical laboratories in the Middle East, a serial medical entrepreneur and founder of profitable walk-in polyclinic and Pathology Laboratories in Harley Street, London UK (still going strong after 35 years). Significant Private Equity, M&A, Deal-making experience in UK, SA and UAE. Helped to plan, fund, build and operate Four hospitals (SA(UCT Private Academic Hospital), KSA (Al Ahsa and Al Khobar) and City Hospital, Dubai) and ten polyclinics in five countries Now he is largely engaged in Philanthropic fund-raising for Universities (UCT), schools (PBHS) and Charitable foundations; Actively mentoring and coaching RS and UCT medical students with their healthcare business start-ups. Currently Head of Healthcare at Henley Business School Africa, Founder of the Henley School of Healthcare Business Leadership and Innovation (SHBL&I)
