Law School and Legal Careers: Paths, Preparation, and Possibilities
Description
Location: Rhodes House, Atlantic Dining Room. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.
We are pleased to invite you to Law School and Legal Careers: Paths, Preparation, and Possibilities, an informal conversation with Nick Allard (New York & Merton 1974), a leading figure in U.S. legal education. As Founding Dean of Jacksonville University College of Law and former Dean and President of Brooklyn Law School, he was named one of the 25 most influential people in U.S. legal education in 2025.
Drawing on decades of experience, Nick will explore why to study law, how to prepare, and how to navigate the U.S. admissions process. The session will also cover broader questions about legal careers and the flexibility of a law degree.
He will be joined by his son, Tyler Allard, a senior legislative aide in the U.S. Congress, who will discuss diverse career paths shaped by legal training, both within and beyond traditional practice.
If you would like to attend, please email Celia Tezel by 22 May at 5pm (UK time) to reserve a space.
