Science@Rhodes - Reception and Commemorative Lecture

Description
Join us for a special evening celebrating the place of science in the Rhodes community and our partnership with Schmidt Science Fellows as we commemorate the seminal 1931 lecture given by Albert Einstein in Rhodes House. We will be welcoming our Alumni, Scholars-in-Residence, Schmidt Science Fellows, and guests from the Oxford science community to a reception and a guest lecture. Our speaker is Professor Sheila Rowan from the University of Glasgow. Professor Rowan is a world-leading expert on and pioneer in gravitational waves, a phenomenon first predicted by Einstein more than a hundred years ago. Prof Rowan is also the former Chief Scientific Adviser to the Scottish Government and will share her perspectives on interdisciplinary science, discovery, leadership, and working with policymakers.
