At this casual event, we hope you join us to share ideas and discuss the trends, challenges, and opportunities present in Government and the Public Sector!

Our co-hosts for the session are Rafi Kakar (Pakistan & Green Templeton 2013), and Kate Orkin (South Africa-at-Large & St Antony's 2007) who will be hosting parallel breakout rooms on topics and inviting attendees to join them:

• Rafi Kakar (Pakistan & Green Templeton 2013): "Navigating Public Sector Organizations: Opportunities, Challenges, and the Art of Leadership"
• Kate Orkin (South Africa-at-Large & St Antony's 2007): "Effective welfare policy in the 21st century"  Since the Covid 19 pandemic many governments have rapidly expanded the social safety net. New evidence throws up often surprising conclusions on whether more welfare discourages work, whether government programmes to support job search have any benefits and on how to best to improve food security in poor households. After a brief overview of some of the new evidence, we will discuss policies in participants’ settings and how new evidence might alter them.
