Health: The Human Face of Climate Change

Health: The Human Face of Climate Change

02 February 2023

16:00 - 17:00 (GMT-05:00)

Online Platform

With current projections of global warming, the world is bracing for climate change events that will significantly impact human health. The vitality of health care systems and their employees is critical for helping communities care for those injured and and made ill by these disasters. What are some of the important steps health systems need to take to ensure their resilience?

Ironically, at the same time, the health care industry is among the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. In the UK, the National Health Service has committed to net zero by 2040. In the US, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 offers new incentives to drive change. Will they be leveraged?

Join in and contribute your own questions and thoughts as our excellent panel considers how health is the human face of climate change!
