Join Hon. Dr. Nigel Clarke (Jamaica & Linacre 1994) for a lecture on Big Lessons from a Small Country: Jamaica’s Economic Transformation – A Work in Progress.
Nigel Clarke serves as Minister of Finance and the Public Service of Jamaica and as an elected member of the Jamaican Parliament. He has served in these roles since 2018.
Dr. Clarke’s public sector career also includes service as Ambassador of Economic Affairs, a Senator in the Upper House of the Jamaican Parliament and chairman of several state owned enterprises in Jamaica.
Prior to public service Dr. Clarke was a businessman and financier for approximately two decades, operating in Jamaica, the Caribbean and Central America.
Nigel Clarke holds a D.Phil. in Numerical Analysis from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, an M.Sc. in Applied Statistics, also from Oxford University, where he was a Commonwealth Scholar, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of the West Indies where he was a Jamaica Scholar.
Dr. Clarke is married to Professor Rupika Delgoda who he met as a student at Linacre College, Oxford.
