Recap of Activities to Date

Over our 120 year history the Rhodes Trust has progressively taken steps to evolve away from the racism and sexism that marked our founding. The changes that occurred were the result of hard work by the Trustees and Scholars – and remain a work in progress.  Over the past decade, in particular, we have taken significant steps to globalise the Rhodes Scholarship, diversify the iconography of Rhodes House, and recruit more senior staff and Trustees of colour.
