Be a Rhodes Connect Mentor
Through the mentoring area on Rhodes Connect, our alumni can offer Scholars-in-Residence informal mentoring and advice through meetings and email exchange. These meetings are hugely valuable to Scholars, giving them the opportunity to gain insights into career sectors, develop networks and gain employability skills.
Requirements: A desire to share knowledge and support a student to develop their employability skills.
Time Commitment: Ad hoc or as often as you can offer.
To register to be a mentor, please join Rhodes Connect, if you have not already registered or if you need any help logging in, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Once you have joined Rhodes Connect, go to your profile and select Mentoring information. Fill in the required information and we will be in touch.
Become a Class Leader
Class Leaders are vital for helping us to reach out to their classmates to facilitate engagement opportunities, run reunion events and support fundraising efforts.
We aim to have at least one Class Leader for every class year.
Requirement: No requirements necessary but good network within your class year is a benefit
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours, approx. 3 times a year
To find out more please contact email@example.com
Speak or help at an Event
We run regular events and programming throughout the year, both for alumni and Scholars in Residence and are often on the lookout for event speakers, hosts and facilitators. We run events both virtually and in-person.
Requirements: Interest in sharing knowledge and experience
Time commitment: approx. 2-3 hours on an ad hoc basis
If you are interested and able to help, please do let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org, telling us a little about yourself and your experience and we will be in touch when an opportunity arises.
Contribute to our Alumni Q&A
The Communications Team is looking for Rhodes Alumni to take part in our ongoing Q&A series, which feature on the Rhodes Scholar Blog. If you would be happy to contribute to this, we would love to include you.
Time Commitment: 1 hour
Encourage an application
Inspiring the next generation of young people who are impatient with the way things are and have the courage and commitment to deliver a positive impact upon the world is very important for us to solve 21st century global challenges. Please share our information pages with a young person you know could be a Rhodes Scholar.
Volunteers are vital in our selection process for the Trust, allowing us to shortlist and interview the thousands of applications we receive every year.
If you would like to indicate your interest in becoming a selector, please let us know. Please note that posts are limited and we may not be able to match you to your desired opportunity. Furthermore, the Trust already has a waiting list of volunteers who wish to be involved in selection, so we may not be able to accommodate any additional requests in the next few rounds of selection. To indicate your interest please email email@example.com
