Matthew Anzarouth

Biography

Matthew completed his B.A. in Social Studies, with a focus in political theory and economics, at Harvard University in May 2025. After graduating, he spent the summer as an intern at the Public Policy Forum, a Canadian think tank, where he worked on policy projects in housing, agriculture, Arctic affairs, and other domains. Previously, he worked or volunteered for several other policy and social science research organizations, including the Tobin Project, the Center for Effective Aid Policy, and Harvard’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. A former competitive debater, he also served as a mentor for Canada’s high school national debate team and as a coach and advisory board member at TalkMaze, a startup aiming to broaden access to debate instruction worldwide. In college, Matthew co-founded the Ad Hoc podcast and served as Senior World Editor at the Harvard Political Review. He wrote a senior thesis on the challenge of balancing individual rights, as enshrined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, with the collective rights of the Québécois and Indigenous peoples. Matthew will pursue an MPhil in Politics (Political Theory) at Oxford.
